A priority for ID: improve access to a clean water for all

The Chinese water resources per capita are low. With more than 21% of the world population and less than 7% of its water resources (which are very unevenly distributed within the country), China sees many conflicts related to access to water.

The rapid development of urbanization and industrialization in China has resulted in increased pressure on water resources, which are poorly managed and weakly controlled resulting in an increased production of inadequately treated sewage.

This gradual deterioration of the situation has resulted in a lack of water in rural areas and pollution of groundwater and rivers.

Guizhou is a mountainous province where water resources are scarce and almost non-existent in winter.

The ID Water access project is intended to facilitate access to clean and healthy water for rural and disadvantaged people.
